Default Bad Cropping?

Is there any way I can get this photo to look better. It got rejected for bad cropping or "Poor Composition" awhile back, so I want to try to make it look better. Any thoughts?

You could try a 1024 x 683 which would remove a fair amount of the sky and a little off the bottom. But, as the shot is basically a roster shot the poles and lines are not doing you any favours and could just be enough to deter acceptance.

A successful roster shot is one without any clutter, IMO. The poles and wires are killers for this shot.

Yes you can see the wires and poles, but they are not in front of the locomotive, and are not causing an obstruction.

Jim didn't say "obstruction", he said "clutter". A contemporary roster shot has to be excellent to get onto RP. You have a pole sticking out of the cab, a no-no. You have wires going into the cab, a no-no.

Speaking of Cropping. I received a rejection for this shot.....

I could bring in the left side some more. I just don't want to lose the storage tanks and tank car which to me nicely balances the shot. What do you guys think? Any help appreciated.

Nice shot. Crop left and top while keeping the tank car, etc. One doesn't necessarily need to make a big adjustment when RP rejects.

Janusz, Sorry for the late response (Had to make a Service Call) and thank you for the kind comments on the shots and help with cropping. I am glad you pointed that out for the screeners before somebody goes into attack mode against the screeners who volunteer there time day and night on this site. It's really nice to be able to ask a question and be able to get help or at least a pointer in the right direction. Dean
