You msay have picked the wrong screener! I like it, but it does seem like rail shots are either accepted right away or PEQ'ed. The one difference I see here is that it is much tighter than most date stamp shots that I've seen accepted here. I also think even with this general crop, I'd prefer to see more on the bottom and less on the top.

I think it's fine. I would probably prefer a just a bit higher angle as I think the texture of the rust on the top of the rail is interesting.

I wonder if the PEQ is because it isn't an active line? A 1913 rail is noteworthy when in use, perhaps less so when abandoned for quite some time.

Same as the others, nice pic.
What I find a little odd is the "flatness" (i don't know if that is even a word..) of the focal distance. Just my taste, but again, good shot.

Cropped too close in my opinion.

Great idea with the leaves though.

I'm in J's boat. I like it but I think a slightly higher angle would be nice.

OK, thanks guys, I had appealed it before I posted it here, (of course it got rejected) I just wanted to see what others thought of it. I have the chance to shoot it again so maybe I'll try it with the higher angle, and a little wider crop.
I know this gets a little out of the RP norm, based on the 166 photos accepted yesterday. then again that's probably why I have only 12 shots this year in the data base. if that makes any sense.

Guys, I know its called "Rail" pics, but isn't there enough pictures of the sides of rails on the site? Lol.

That being said, I guess it's also not a wedgie of a Gevo.

Would help if there was not so much bokeh and all of the 1913 was crisp. Even then though, I dunno. I also think the crop is too square. I think the rejection is legit.

I went and shot it again, just before the sun went down, I wanted to try to get what little shadows I could on the well rusted date, and did what J suggested "bit higher angle" that helped emphasize the texture of the rust too, lost the color of the leaves though, but it worked out

BTW There's never enough "sides of rail" pics, LOL
