First one too tight, and too bad about the blurred weed. Second one, crop sky and left, just too much on the left side.

First one is too tight. Second one has too much sky and is bottom heavy.

That would be easy to clone out.

Yep. Another reason to keep your eyes open for stuff like that when shooting so you can do some "real time cloning."

I wanted the first one to be an in-your-face since the background was hazy and in the shadows. The sun was only out in the foreground. I can try cloning the weed out, didn't really think that was an issue.

I can crop more of the Mormon Rocks out of the image I guess. I was trying to get the flavor of Cajon with its impressive rock formations and wide-open horizons. I am not used to this back east in the Pittsburgh area.

BTW... and a little off topic: I do want to get to the Powder River Basin soon before the gov't closes all the coal fired plants. Can anyone share their experiences from that area?

Thanks for the advice. I will give them one more try before moving on. I will just put them on my website, www.massartimages.com

Well, if you just open it up a little on all sides, it can still be "in your face."

Aside from the weed being considered an issue or not, it doesn't bother your eyes being there? That would drive me nuts in my photo.
