PEQ For An Old Fashioned Streetcar

Not really sure why it got PEQ. I could see maybe some other rejections, but other interior shots have made it to the site.

For example, a buddy of mine took this one of a VIA Renaissance coach....

FWIW, if you showed me both pictures off RP and told me only one made it to the DB, I would guess that yours made it in, and your friends didn't.

Do you have an horizontal version?

Unfortunately I only grabbed this one shot. There is space upwards, and to the left/right. It was about to leave so I couldnt get any others. Would it be worth it to wait for another screener?

Those ads up on top are usually quite colorful, as well as the rich colors of the trims. May I ask why you opted for B&W?

I'm with Mathieu on which one would have made it into the DB if I had to choose, whether yours is B&W or color.

Your friend's shot was submitted and accepted waaaaaaay back in June of 2012 and likely would not have been accepted today. Standards have long since changed.

I think yours is better captured as well.

In the future - if possible, a few people added, would go a long way.

Maybe - go HORIZONTAL to eliminate all that "extra" floor and emphasize the detail of the windows and chairs.

EMTRailfan - I chose B&W hoping for a sort of old feel, considering this car was from the 1920's. I could retry eventually with the color.

Mitch - I regret not taking a horizontal pic, I just figured that with the 18-55mm, portrait was the better option. I can always go back though :P

If going back is not a problem, I would put this one aside in the "things learned" pile.

I always say that the first time is never the best time. Don't hesitate to revisit shots and try again at later dates. There's a big difference between looking at a photo and being out there taking a photo. Sometimes, there are things you only realize once you looked at your photo, at home.

Ill give that a try! I think I had a bit of room on the sides that I cut out to centre the photo. Ill see what happens.
