Too much nothingness on the right, and a little too much bottom, I would say.

Amen. Tighter crop, especially on the right. A bit off the bottom and left wouldn't hurt either.

Unfortunately, there is more wrong than right here.

(Though I wish I had been there with you Daniel)

First thing that struck me was the loco had brighter buffers than boiler top. Some sort of uneven lighting that is uncomfortable to look at.

Having lots of field to the right can work but NOT with the pole line. The poles and wires derail the eye movement from the loco to most anywhere else in frame.

The scraggly plants between the loco and the camera, blocking the view, are distracting.

Finally, the big no-no is you cut off the plume.

Please see the attached cropping attempt. It is by no means RP acceptable but it does get rid of some bad elements.
