Default Bad cropping, how to proceed?

I would really appreciate some help/opinions on this:

Personally I like the pic as it is, but I've been kicked off from Mindreading class, and can't get further.

Due to the shadow of the roundhouse there's no more place at the bottom.

Thanks in advance.

I would be curious what the shadow you mentioned looks like. I wonder if you had a wider shot or other angles. There seems to be a lot to like about this subject, but the cut off locomotives on the left and the man at the bottom are a bit distracting. I guess a crop that had more of the locomotives and even if it had some shadow might work, unless the shadow is a completely featureless area of blackness. Hopefully someone with a bit more insight than I have can help you get this in.

Hi Andre, thanks for the thoughts.

Here's a shot where the shadows and the edge of the roof is visible (shot for a panorama image):

The tracks between the turntable and the doors are too short, it's impossible to avoid cutting off something. This way I've found the shadows more distracting, than the inevitable cut of the engines.

Besides this was a one time opportunity, the subject is not a static display, most of the engines got back to work next day, so I've made lot of frames, but I've no intention to post "roster like" shots here. The rejected frame shows the scene best between these circumstances, that's why I'm stucked with the cropping issue.

Well, going wider is not working, I don't have enough space. What about plan B, a tighter crop?
