It's fine for them to do so, I welcome it in fact, but what I do have a problem with is that the practitioners of the more "arty" shots, I have found, tend to look down their nose's at others who are shooting more "mundane" shots.
Railroad photography is what you make of it, but one way is not "better" than another, IMHO. Unless you have a pole right thought the nose of the engine! -SG

Max, I wonder if it has something to do with the threads on Al Qaeda and derailing trains. I initially posted in the off-topic forum then posted in the photography forum in hopes of encouraging a discussion about the topic. Another member posted the same topic in the photography forum as well and apparently Peter was this weeks forum police and felt they did not belong there. I'm guessing he went off in one of those two threads because they no longer exist and the one I posted in the off topic forum is the only one that remains.

Usually you have to earn the ban hammer, so it probably wasn't unwarranted. He did go off in the thread rathman started in the RR photo forum, and I made a comment there thanking his moderating prowess, but I didn't see any reply.

Some of the younger ones get their backs up pretty quick... and one middle aged dork.
