Apparently the people that contriubuted to this thread are "character assasins." That's odd; doesn't said individual first need character to assasinate it?

But this thread served it's purpose because:

- it changed the way he does business...no more illegally used photos from RP on his homepage.
- it once again caught him in a flat-out lie. Sometimes I wish I could go through life without the confines of reality restricting my beliefs and actions. It must be nice to be able to ignore so much evidence that points out and proves what a no good liar I am.

Oh, and don't take the bait on his 2011 RP calendar. He's not going go through with it, just like his trip to Oswosso.

Did he really say that? That's rich!

Funny, he claimed that I could "not resolve my own issues" (his exact words) when he had his initial meltdown on this forum last year. Yet, when I TRIED to "resolve my own issues" with him, he acted like a complete coward to me and wouldn't address what I had to say to him. That's ok...I'll get my chance to "resolve my own issues" with him someday when we meet in person.

You're right, Chris, that sexless coward never had any "character" to begin with.

And I'm still trying to figure out what "useless dribble" is.

Clearly a cloudy day, common angle of common power, mustve taken a whole lot of talent to shoot the same angle over and over.

Oh and the image is linked to the original URL.

His respones is classic.

FINALLY! A QUALITY IMAGE ON RP.NET!

Clearly a cloudy day? Holy shit, is this clown blind?

Common power? The SD80MAC will never be considered a common power.

Common angle? I don't think so. I don't see anything at a 3/4 angle in that image.

In the state of Pennsylvania, we have cloudy to the left, clear to the right. A filtered sun was shining behind me as evidenced off the windshield of the 7202, and the handrail shadows on the front of that unit. This means what?........Uhh, maybe the sun was shining?

ROFLMAO!

RP.net members are totally blind from looking at their own bad images. They see a good image, and they do not recognize it.

I'm not going to complain about the fact that my image is on an RP.net forum. It gives you clusterfucks a chance to see what a good image looks like, if you just sit and wait for a certain situation to develope..

-end-

What a fool.

I finally found a photo of Dan (aka "the RAT").

Now, can you really blame the guy for what he does?

Though I am in no way trying to take up for the guy but I do not think his work is that "bad". He has some pretty decent images, usually a decent exposure, composition is okay, his images are usually sharp and in focus. I have seen MUCH worse work out there. Ever spent more than 20 seconds at RRPA?

Too bad his actions and attitude are that of a 5 year old. I do not know the full story of why he hates RP nor do I really care to, but any time I see some one whine or complain about being rejected by RP it just pisses me off and makes me think that they are acting like little kids. Whether its a thread on this very forum (theres a new one every other hour), a video on youtube, or one of the many rants on other sites such as Daniel's. Get over it, its not life or death.

I agree, he has some nice shots but thats not my issue, he thinks he is god and his photos are the best thing since sliced bread. They are just as generic as most of the stuff he calls out, not bad but far from spectacular.
He calls out people for duplicate angles but yet he goes and repeatedly shoots that same shots of trains passing through the signals there. He actually brags that he has caught every SD40E passing through the signals, great job, you just managed to get 20 (or however many SD40E's they have now) shots that are exactly the same...

I guess ill respond, no point but whatever

Cloudy yes, you got a very small patch of as you said yourself, filtered sun, not even a sucker hole, the light is far worse than what you call people out on.

Common power, yes by your standards seeing as a former EMD demonstrator GP59 with the aerodynamic cab is "common power"

Doesnt have to be 3/4th to be common, from glancing through your flikr album i have seen this angle way to many times. Find a new spot already.

Dan is a child and this is possibly one of the longest temper tantrums on record. When a normal, well adjusted adult has an issue this something they approach it in an adult manner, however Dan has decided to show that he is a baby. This level of obsession can not be healthy. Beyond him, there is a very small band of loyal followers of his deranged ramblings that agree with him... likely because screeners have rejected their shots and instead of improving or at the least, taking it like men, they lashout like little whining bit*hes. Not to Dan's insane extent, but they agree with him.

Dan is entitled to his opinion, but the manner in which he expresses it is beyond sad and makes him look like a very pathetic, small minded little man. I stated before they he should start a site to complete with RP as the best way to show them how to do it properly, but I think that he lacks the stone to go up against RP and it's success. Easier fo him to hide in his dark little hole on the internet and likely he knows that he'd fail in a stellar, and very public, fashion.

As for his continual questioning the sexual orientation of some RP posters, does the axiom "it takes one to know one" mean anything?

And there's the keyword in all of this. I believe Dan is a little insane, and the longer he goes on with this hatred toward RP and everyone involved, the more sorry I feel for him for losing his sanity. Mental illness can be tough for some people to accept in their lives, as I have witnessed it first hand with a couple of people I know. It's like an alcoholic admitting he/she has a problem, and then taking the next step to get some help. So, I guess I can't blame him to some extent. Unfortunately the steps of admittance, acceptance and getting help haven't come in to play with him yet.

And I must add...I'd probably go insane as well if I had experienced some of the personal tragedies he has.

Good points Jim. The guy has totally lost the point of his group. The site is no longer about this site, it has become a place where he can show his jealousy of people who have a life and aren't out of their minds. As you have said, he has had tragedy in the past (self inflicted from what I have heard), and his current situation is another tragedy unfolding right before our eyes. He really should rename his group "I love the work of AB(2), Jim Thias, Steven Welch, and all other RP users". We are all he talks about, and the last issue of Railfan & Railroad must have driven him up the wall since half the submissions came from RP photographers. I am going to send him a signed copy because I know he loves our photos.

BTW, hi Dan, hope you had a good weekend, I'll be waiting for your predictable whining post about all the 611 & 1218 photos to come. Yes we know "Common power, common angle", "Same as previous photo" blah blah blah. And by the way, if an N&W steamer in operation at Strasburg can be called common power, then a boring SD80 MAC is common and BORING!!!!

"WTF?! Looking at the image, one cannot tell that that is an SD70MAC out there."

Can I quote him? "Thats laughable! Totally laughable."

RPnet further promotes the myth that good shots can only be made on sunny days,
which is total BS. O. Winston Link made a couple of great shots in the rain at
either Bluefield or Williamson as a streamlined N&W steamer came into the
station. RPnet would have probably rejected him and even his night shots as it
was not a sunny day.

This is funny. Everybody on here knows that good shots on cloudy/rainy days can get in.

Dan, I hope you realize the site admins don't even read your insane ramblings. It's called a trash can, and it's where your emails belong. Drives you nuts doesn't it?????? Nobody takes you seriously. You are a source of entertainment because you are a NUT JOB!!!! Accept it and get help. Otherwise, quiet down, enjoy the pictures on here, and find a new hobby if this one makes you this upset.

Guys:
The original intent and question posted seems to have been duly addressed. Beyond that, it isn't worth giving Mr. Valentine the attention he craves. Lets please just move on.

Over there, he said,

Quote:
Its amazing what the collection of geniuses can do for me. Because of them, "The Rat" is known world-wide!
I feel some amount of pity for him. This quote makes it even more evident that he's clearly got issues. Even if his statement was true, almost no one has said anyting even remotely good about him. Yet he thinks he's "world wide." People here have made comments about his sexuality, his girlfriend and his cowardice. Yet he's thinking he's been done a favor.

He's a train wreck. You don't want to see what he says, but it's hard not to look away. Like a bad reality TV show.

I do think if he had any balls at all, he would open up his group and let anyone join and defend their pictures from he who knows best.

We all know he's a loser who needs to be ignored. But it's hard to look away when you pass a car wreck.

Sorry to add another post, Mr. Starnes . . .

Sadly, the original issue of copyright does not seem to have been addressed successfully as far as Mr. Valentine is concerned. To wit:

"The Homepage image was approved by an RP.net screener.

How the hell did this get approved? Will the idiot screener please stand up! I cropped out the RP.net ID strip at the bottom to really piss them off. I left off the date to see if they can find out who captured this lame image."

http://finance.groups.yahoo.com/group/RPnetTruth/

I hope whoever the image belongs to is interested in dealing with the copyright issues in question.

Jon

Lolz, what a nice place to have your forum hosted The Rat...appears Yahoo thinks you're over your download limit. Maybe they moved his site over to a server that used to host Geocities

"The message you requested is temporarily unavailable because this group has exceeded its download limit. Please try again later. "
