Default Help ID This Railroad..........

This pic was taken outside Greeley Colorado on I-85 North bound.
Seems we get about two of these coming through a week.

Now here is what I can tell you about that unit.

It is an SD40, the trim on the unit I am having a hard time telling because the picture is not very sharp. It may be an SD40M-2, which if it is, it may now belong to UP. I have not really found any information on it other than that. However my guess, would be a RailAmerica unit. I dont know.... Anyone else?

Unit is an SD45. An SD40 would have larger "porches".

I did a little searching and found that there are only Two RR's that serve the Greeley area. The UP and the Great Western. I tried to find a roster for the GW to match up that engine number, but couldnt find any online.. Here is more info

I would say that train is a Great Western...but without a roster its hard to confirm...

Unit is a GM SD45 built 1968 now owned by Andersite Rock Railroad based out of Carr, Co.
