Friday afternoon scam??

I got a railpics contact from (??) the editor of a Brazilian RR mag, who wanted to use a couple of my pics of new Brazilian units being shipped on NS (images are not at RP). He wanted my bank account number to send payment ...yeah, right. He couldn't send wire or American Express. Has this happen to anyone before?

He was also wondering why RP couldn't be the go-between for money transfer ... right.

I hate Pay-Pal, but perhaps that would be the best venue?

I hate it too ... no account. Just going to write it off, especially since this guy thinks I don't trust him ... well, DUH.

I have sold collector cars overseas and having funds wired to your account is the best. Contact your bank for a routing # or address. That will be a number he receives. It is not unusual for this type of payemnt. Just talk to your bank and DOnt give him your account number. My guess is it is legit. Why would he single out you? Many have overseas shots. Anyway, I wouldnt blow it off just yet......... Just ask your bank.......

The only thing I hate about Pay-Pal is the amount of time it takes for money to transfer from my bank acct. If it could transfer in a day or less, then I might be willing to make more online purchases, as I think PP is pretty damn convenient (when you already have the money in your PP acct).
