Grain isn't something that you can really 'get rid' of in Photoshop. Basically to get rid of grain, you need to scan at a higher resolution (film) or shoot with a higher megapixel camera (digital).

Photoshop
Can you send me a copy of the picture in question? It sounds like it could be fun to see what can be done with it. One MB or less please - I'm on dial-up. How'd you end up with an editing program that cost three times more than your camera? (I'm just asking!)

Pshop noise reduction.
Filter>Noise>Despeckle. The action will blur the picture a bit though. You can fade the Despeckle or do an Unsharp Mask, to modify the process. Both tools produce the best results when used sparingly. If the type of shot you're going for is consistantly noisey, try using the B&W/sepia mode. B&W/sepia can add a lot of punch to a digicam. You can always kill the sepia effect (real ugly in Sony models at least) in Photoshop. {A little RTFM never hurts either.}

Just drop me a line if you ever get a chance to try it. Maybe we'll be into Photoshop 8 by then.

Its the newest version of Adobe Photoshop. Its part of the new Adobe Create Suite (hence the CS) which will combine ImageReady CS, Adobe InDesgin CS, Adobe Illustrator CS, Adobe GoLive CS, Adobe Acrobat 6.0 Professional, and the new version file manager.
Sounds pretty good to me!

I heard that the only major upgrade from PS 7.0 is another filter, but that's not from personal experience. Maybe I'll get around to installing PS 8 sometime and see what the difference is.
