There's nothing PEQ about that. All it needs is an NS and you have the 4 major US railroads. Nice shot.

What you really need is a little more elevation, it would be alot more appealing if the third line didnt have the trucks cut off, not that you can redo that unfortunatly. IMO its no worse than the multitude of LTEX shots.

For me, unpleasantly cropped. 3/4 of an engine is not a pleasing crop and you cut off both foreground engines in that way, in one case splitting an axle. Feels tight on the left in general. I would go wider both sides.

It's a jumbled mess, not a fan. No subject, no flow.

(also not a fan of the Larrys Truck and Electric shots)

I don't know if it occurred to you or not, but the train in the upper left, if you were a second or 2 earlier or later, you would have had the lead unit's nose lit

Jeez you guys are over analyzing this. Its a simple pic of an engine yard with 3 of the 4 major US railroads. And at least he didn't cut off the logos. I do agree that the engines in the background could be lit though.

Looks better than all of the Larry's pics to me.

All cut off, interesting but no reason to have it on the site.

I personally have had a problem with those trying to tell us to turn railroad photography into an "art form." It's fine for them to do so, I welcome it in fact, but what I do have a problem with is that the practitioners of the more "arty" shots, I have found, tend to look down their nose's at others who are shooting more "mundane" shots.
Railroad photography is what you make of it, but one way is not "better" than another, IMHO. Unless you have a pole right thought the nose of the engine! -SG
