Thumbs down What's wrong with these?

http://www.railpictures.net/viewreject.php?id=192112
http://www.railpictures.net/viewreject.php?id=192111
http://www.railpictures.net/viewreject.php?id=192110

Except the Strasburg photo, all of these were retouched from darker photos via Photoshop.

http://www.railpictures.net/viewreject.php?id=192112 - On this one, it looks as though your left leg is shorter than the right (i.e. the photo is unlevel). It's also cloudy and a tad soft.

http://www.railpictures.net/viewreject.php?id=192111 - Wrong side of the tracks for this kind of shot.

http://www.railpictures.net/viewreject.php?id=192110 - Also unlevel. Nice composition, but you also need a more generous crop. The lighting could also be better on it.

The first photo is unlevel like previosly stated, and cloudy shots are very hard to get accepted.

The second photo is nice and I dont know why it wasn't accepted. There are plenty of shots like this in the database. Just because the side your on is shadowed doesn't mean it's a bad photo, this too is a great composition

The last one is odd to me, and yes it is unlevel. I couldn't see it getting accepted but that's just me.

The loco is in largely in shadow. You might get away with it if the loco was spewing steam and/or smoke but it's not. The blown out white T-shirt doesn't help the overall effect. Sorry if this is harsh but of the 3 photos I like this the least. Well, you did ask.

Nice composition on that third shot, but it would look a lot better as a vertical (too much dead space on the sides).

Mike -
I'm learning alot as I go. And each photo I've had accepted has come at the expense of at least 7 or 8 rejections. Keep at it... and check the elements other members have suggested (horizon line, light source, dead space, etc.). Also, don't be afraid to submit a vertical shot. I've had a fair share of luck with these.

You'll be racking up acceptances in no time.
