Default How long will it take?

How long until someone on RP catches the NS 999? It's the new battery powered unit that is painted green and black with typical NS lettering.

Poor color scheme. At least in my opinion.

Hey, I like that paint job! Anything to get rid of that ugly NS black is alright by me.

That's a pretty goofy looking locomotive, though.

Is it just me, or did they fail to mention how powerful that thing is?

I heard in the nose, as long as you give it a carrot every 3 hours the locomotive will be kept charged.....

At first I thought it was the perspective distortion that was making it look odd, but even fixing that up, it looks a little, I don't know, chunky. And that short nose with that cab does not look good to me. And I personally have never liked a black+green combination. But it is something new on the east of the Mississippi, first interesting class-1 paint over here since the Maersk unit(s)? Are they still around? Anyway, I don't see the UP heritage stuff over here, so this is all I have. Aargh.

BTW, it is 1500 hp; here is the NS press release.

There's gotta be a better way to do a black and green paint scheme! And I agree that the short nose looks odd with that cab - in fact, the overall look kind of reminds me of a CF-7.

These companies should really have contests for paint schemes. I have seen many very, very well done paint schemes by some talented people, floating around the net.

That's because it is green and black. Big difference, too me.

Don't know what any of you are talking about.

I like the paint scheme and I think the locomotive looks pretty cool.

I'm a fan of the black, green, and white, especially looking at the nose. Black and green BN is alright/tolerable, the more green the better, the less green, the less a fan I am. When they added white to that, nice. Not the white stripes, the white! (Don't even get me going on the orange stripes.)

This was a nice scheme, love the red stripe.

The NS is black with a bit of green, nooooo. I might go for the nose-on all-green view.

I agree, the locomotive appears "chunky", but I do like the paint scheme a lot. It sort of resembles the P&L scheme..
