For those who may have wondered if I came to like the D5000...I definitely have. It's a great camera for an intro-DSLR. Here's my first RP shot taken using it:

I switched from film (Nikon FM2) to digital a year ago and decided on the D90 after hours of reading reviews on the internet. The reviews of the kit lens were not that great, so I opted for the 18-55mm and 55-200mm VR lenses. Overall, I'm very happy and I find that I don't switch lenses that often for it to be a problem.

I bought mine at Adorama in NYC while on holiday there (B&H did not have any in stock!) and was happy with the service and the price (if I'd bought it here in South Africa the total cost would have been US$ 700.00 more!).

I do find lens flare to be a problem on the 55-200, but I think that might have something to do with the UV filter. I hope to upgrade to a better quality make soon. My 2 cents.........
