Never in any battery powered device should new vs old be mixed

Sorry, man. I was more irritated than anything and didn't read what you wrote right. I felt like Gene Roddenbery without a typewriter.

No prob.

Hope things work out with getting a new camera. KEH in Atlanta, extremely reputable used camera dealer, has the 300D under $300, XT at $430 new. A Japanese version 300d ("Kiss") for $225 (no charger, but you've got one)! No used XT bodies right now, too bad.

Back in film days I bought a Japanese version of the Elan IIe from KEH, great camera, same as the US but had the panorama option, worked really well.

As mentioned elsewhere, my wife just ordered a new XTi for me that should arrive in a week or so!

Life is good again.

Take her through the process slowly. I was about to use the strategy of "And look what folks are doing with that camera" as I went over Andrew (2)'s shots, but by then she was ready for me to shut up, so she just said "yeah, we can afford it."

I KNEW it! I just need a bit more equipment! You guys make this stuff oh-so complicated! It's just a matter of money, as always.

Don't you shoot with the 20D? Which is the next step up from the Rebel series.
