Default Regected photo, What do you guys think

Hi,
Just wanted to know what you guys thought of this one:

http://www.railpictures.net/viewreject.php?id=213177

I was sorting though my old photos from last year makeing sure I had not missed any SP ones that we're going up on my webpage, and i happened across this one. I think it actualy turned out quite nice for a wedge shot of a SD70. I know that it has those against it, but yeah... just let me know what you all think.

Obviously, there's a good deal of sunlight present judging by the shadows, but it looks like it's a muted light, maybe being filtered through some haze. Nothing makes this 'pop;' the colors look flat. Maybe try upping the saturation a tad, but this might be better for your personal collection...

Here's a juiced up version. I messed with curves a tad and upped the saturation. It brightened it up, but like CW said, it's still an SD70M (and it's UP )

You can see sunlight through high, thin cirrus clouds...which, in addition to messing with the colors, makes images appear dull...

The sun angle is about perfect but as has been mentioned, the light is a little filtered by thin clouds and thus the colors are more dull. But I'd say something that contributed to this rejection was common angle of common power. When faced with common power, the best thing to do in my opinion is show more of the train, and try to add at least one thing of interest, maybe a signal, depot or other building, scenery, etc., or take the photo from an unusual angle, low down on the ground or from a bridge or hillside.

i'll play around with it some day when i have nothign better to do. I knew when i posted it it was comon power and a normal wedge shot, but stuck it up there just for the heck of it.

About the clouds... i think any filtering of light that would have been happening here would have been from fog or other moisture in the air. On the type of day that I shot this photo it is very rare to get high clouds in SLO, but low clouds na fog are very common, espeicaly in the morning when this shot was taken.

As for angle stuff, I have been playing around a lot latly, mostaly out on ceusta grade where i have more room to shoot from. I really hate low angle shots. I think they turn out looking really horable and no longer shoot them. Hopefuly i'll be able to get my newest stuff deveoloped soon and get some of them up here.

thanks for the comments everyone,
~matt

Even if it doesn't get accepted for the reason stated, its still a quality photo and would probably look good as a framed print.
