The states of Massachusetts and Connecticut have been toying with the idea of passenger service over the Housy for years, and it looks like they are pretty close to embarking upon that mission:

This would certainly have an effect on operations in the near term during extensive trackwork, and then possible ramifications on hours of freight operations in the long term depending on how much passenger traffic is operated.
Regardless, it wouldn't be a bad time to pay a visit to the Berkshire Route if you've wanted to lense those GP35s in action (like I have wanted to, for years!).
