Default Slow going

I notice the stats for number of uploads was pretty low for the day/week. Just uploaded one ... #177 in the queue, holly cow, everyone must be taking finals or on vacation.

Keep in mind that there have been a lot of areas experiencing clouds and non railpictures.net type weather recently.

A little over an hour later, the backlog was gone!

When it is cloudy, shoot from a bridge or other elevated location, so you don't see the sky.

Blue sky is nice (and basically necessary for roster shots), but there are lots of images in the db with overcast sky. Maybe we need a catagory for overcast sky so people can study how to use what nature gives you. Remember, with a overcast sky, you don't have to worry about sun angle, that is the time to look at other ways to shoot a location where the sun angle normally dictates where you stand.

This image, it is not only overcast, it is snowing.

This is an overcast day roster shot, but very "special"

Some over cast shots I really like. Well not a dark roster or straight on shot.

It can certainly be done on cloudy days, but the wedgies and common angle shots are not going to be accepted much. I've always thought to myself that the weather plays a big part in the number of uploaded pics, as do many other variables.

In your steam shot, there is nothing ordinary about that, that's for sure. It's a hell of a neat shot, and the weather accentuates this picture, in my opinion. It looks cold, and a steam engine on a cold day can make for a neat shot.

Now the Thomas thingy, I'll leave that one alone.
