Default New BNSF name

I was pondering this while looking at some pics of the Swooshies. Since Burlington Northern Santa Fe changed its name to BNSF Railway [Burlington, Norfolk and Santa Fe Railway? ], what is going to become of Burlington Northern Santa Fe named pics? Trains Mag and other media outlets refer to them as BNSF Railway. What should we do about this "issue"? Do we put Burlington Northern Santa Fe under fallen flags, change everything to BNSF Railway, use both names, or ignore the change? Im up for ignoring the change.

[Stupid BNSF for making this hard for us]

I would say units bought by BNSF after the name change go in as BNSF Railway, but everything before then as Burlington Northern Santa Fe.

On another note, I see pics in the library with BN executive SD70Ms taken this year filed as Burlington Northern. Surely these should be filed as BNSF, see as they were being operated by BNSF...
It's like pics of warbonnet C40-8Ws with BNSF patching going in as ATSF...

I though we put in the operating railroad, not the railroad of the paint scheme...

I think the ICC might have something to say about that idea.

I doubt it. Although, I have heard rumors of it but I doubt they are true. I'd hate to see NS go.

No. This was just SD70MACMAN's attempt at making a horribly bad joke.

Hey, that hurts!

Theres been talk of them merging, nothing serious, just more in bed with each other. I heard it from an engineer and thought it rather amusing.

I was talking to a Metrolink engineer, and he said that unless the Santa Fe locomotive HAS a BNSF patch on it, then the engine is referred to as a BNSF engine. If it does NOT have a BNSF patch, then it is referred to as a Santa Fe engine.

The way things have been going, I wouldn't doubt it... UP in the west and BNSF/NS conglomeration in the east.

It'll probably start a chain reaction forcing UP and CSX to merge. [Remember in Trains Mag a few months ago ,the big merger issue?] But that would be interesting if BNSF and NS merged and then gov't wouldnt allow UP and CSX to merge Man, theyd be pissed and screwed.
