Default Backlit?

http://www.railpictures.net/viewreje...77&key=2499542

Got the backlit reject. I explained that this angle is only able to be captured in the summer months due to the sun angle and the mountains/hills surrounding the area.

What do you all think? Anything different. Maybe something I'm missing in post processing?

Thanks,

For RP, take it again on a nicer day (maybe next summer). Choose a day when the sky is decent; looks hazy. The general blah is not helping you.

Also, I think this shot will look a better within a week of June 21 - it seems like only a few degrees of difference in sun angle between then and August 4, but that angle makes a significant difference. I have already given up on my solstice shots, like baseball, there's always next year!

Not bad! I can understand why it didn't get on, but that is a shot I would try again when the sun angles are more favorable. Is there a way you could show more of the town on the frame on the right in a future shot? I'm not really and expert on the lay of the land from that side of the river, but that could help with the composition a lot.

Thanks guys, the sun still has some good light so I may be able to try again. As far as getting more of the town, what the bridge doesn't block of the town itself, the trees do. The church stands at a much higher elevation on a knoll than the lower town.

Question

Why can't you get on the other side of the river and shoot a train coming the opposite direction?

That would solve all your problems.

Because that is not what I want and was trying something different other than the same angle always seen.

Perhaps that is why the other side is the more common view - yes?
