I'm looking for opinions on what needs to be done to make it upload worthy.

This is what I would do (Attactched), but that's just my 2 cents.

I don't think there is really alot to work with in this shot. The plants in the foreground bug me. I, personally, would go and stand next to the ROW and shoot the train going around the curve. Walking through those weeds would definatly be worth it

I actually like the first crop better. The foreground clutter as well as the angle make this shot not RP worthy. As Daniel said, get closer to the tracks for this particular shot. Keep going.

Also do a little brush clearing or get more height.

Knock down the green thing and a little more height. I like the idea of amber grain and the train full of goods, two big symbols of prosperity.
