Default Franklin Industrial Minerals Question?

Just curious, but why does this operation have the X at the end of their reporting marks? I would think it would constitute being a railroad all of it's own.

That would indicate it is a private railroad, not a common carrier. It is owned by the company, solely for the purpose of moving traffic to and from the plant. If another industry located along the line and wanted rail service, they would have to petition the STB to become a common carrier railroad, which would mean operating under more stringent rules.

That actually makes sense to me, Mike. Thanks!
