Default Too Dark?

I've submitted this twice, and got "Too Dark" both times... I really like the shot, but I don't want to lighten it up too much, I kind of liked it a bit darker.

However, can anyone help me regarding how much I should lighten the photo for RP standards?

Thanks!

Looks like some bad contrast too. That actually might be where a lot of the "too dark" is coming from. There's no real contrast in the tones. Also, there is some haloing around the trees in the sky.

And no reporting marks.

It will never get on as its to dark, No mater if you like it or not. If you don't want to lighten it put it on Flickr but it is to dark, Whites and blacks need to be right and the shot has a dark muddy look.

Alright, thanks for the help, guys. I can certainly see the bad contrast now, and now that I look more closely, everything really does just seem to melt in with eachother.
Thanks again.

Add over sharpened to. Best to start with less.
