Default Advice on rejected photo

This photo was rejected for bad angle and poor lighting...

I was wondering if there was anything that can be done to save it...
It was a rare paint scheme that wasn't seen in too many places, and the pic was scanned from a 35mm print...
I did do another crop, but it cut it to 762x414...
Should I appeal or use the crop, which is attached below?

I would keep this one for the personal collection. Going away shots are generally not accepted. Cloudy shots generally aren't accepted either.
