Default Smugmug?

Can I see some of your Smugmug sites? I'm considering it. Is the Pro version worth it? Easy to use? Any tips?

Easy to use - yes

Worth it - if you want to sell easily, you have no choice but to pay some site. I think it is worth it.

Use code "flickr" to get first year 1/2 price.

Tips - Read the smugmug help sites and blog to be able to give you a custom look.

Pro is worth it if you plan to sell, if not you could go for the level below it.

I like the fact that the storage space is unlimited, the bandwidth is unlimited, I have unlimited uploads each month. Many photo websites and web providers in general do not offer things such as that, so I really like that aspect of it!

You can customize it to your hearts content, saying its easy depends on how much experience you have with HTML and CSS. I found it a little challenging but I enjoyed doing it.

I actually just have the cheapest account, but I bought a GoDaddy domain name and forward that to my smugmug page. I may go for the Pro account this year so I can start selling prints directly through them. Their "proof delay" feature lets you upload small watermarked images for the galleries, then upload properly sized complete versions of an image once it's ordered, make sure any customer's crops are properly done, etc.

I really WANT to like Zenfolio better - their pro account is cheaper, and they use MPIX which is where I get all my prints from at the moment. But I just don't like their page layout or navigation features. SmugMug is SO simple and straightforward IMO. And they have great support from employees and in their own busy forum, so I will stick with them.

Smug mug uses Bayphoto which seems better then MPIX from my expierience. Bayphoto really packages their prints better then I have ever seen and always flat never rolled.

When it comes to quality either one will give great prints. The big downside to Bayphoto is that it takes 5-7 days to ship to the east coast where as Mpix is located more towards the middle of the country so shipping is pretty uniform no matter where you purchase from.

I have been lucky. Bayphoto to Wisconsin has been 3-4 days from the time I order.
