Question Very Weird

I haven't been online much throughout this last week while I repaired an old computer, so I was stunned to come online today and find something very odd.

The last time I was online, which was last Monday (I think), this photo had just over 200 views:

It turned out nice and how I wanted it, but it's nothing "spectacular" for RP.net. I log on today and it is my most popular photo, with over 1,600 views! So, I decide to see who is linking to it and giving it so many views. Now, another surprise. The linking site is written in German!

I thought this was strange as none of the text on the site seems to make sense to me ... so I pondered about why it was possibly being shared over there. Only one thing came to me ... the town name? Would anyone happen to know on here what "Nielsville" means? Any other thoughts on what is going on here?

I'm excited to find out if anyone may know anything...

I think it might be because of the weeds growing on the tracks.

It's funny you mention that, though. Through Nielsville is where that track is at its best. As you can obviously tell, it's in deplorable condition, but it's good enough for the Minnesota Northern to operate at 10 mph and get the grain to market. If BN hadn't sold it off years back, with the way BNSF goes about operating their branch lines without shuttle shippers, there would probably be no trains there today.

Something about the photograph also reminds them of a forum member named Niels.

That's what I was starting to think they were talking about as I looked at it more. It must be a pretty popular site to generate that amount of views on the shot!

Drehscheibe forum (and indeed the website ) is very popular in Germany.
There is also a big following for USA railroading over there, congrats on getting noticed Carl

Thanks Janet. When I saw the amount of views that it had gotten in such a short amount of time, I knew that some site had to have been prompting them. It just wasn't a realistic photo to just get so many views, not to mention so long after it was uploaded!

The detailed history on the photo shows when the photo was obviously shared over there:

http://www.railpictures.net/photohistory.php?id=189326

as well as the most referring webpage (but not the only one from that site):

http://drehscheibe-online.ist-im-web....php?3,3357339

While I'm discussing the photo history page, does anyone know what a referrer like this means? It makes me wonder:

c:/Documents and Settings/user/Επιφάνεια εργασίας/BETSIS_ALL/18904

Makes it seem like someone else's computer, and not an actual site. Clicking on it results in an error message.
