KCS de Mexico engines lead an NS manifest south, past the Diamond with CSX at Attica Ohio. The word on the street is that NS 309 is picking the new deliveries up from GE, in Erie, and bringing them to Bellevue, where they are put in service. Then, through a deal struck with KCS they are used for revenue service routed toward the NS/KCS interchange out west. Noone I've spoken with knows for sure why some of them are painted, and some are coming out in primer, although some have speculated that the ghosts will recieve the standard gray and yellow KCS livery. It was a stroke of luck that the 4718 had the point, and primer sister 4709, was trailing.
