Alaska Railroads first passenger train of the morning is about to cross under the highway to Seward as the train itself makes its way to Seward. Interestingly the railroad is physically shorter than the highway to the same destination but not quicker due to the steep grade the Alaska Railroad must pass over to get to Seward.
Landscape photography is difficult due to the challenge of combining good light and good scenery. Good railroad photography enters another level of complexity since it requires the first two while there is a train in view.
