Remarks & Notes |
The Conrail daylight shops drill was one of the best jobs on the railroad, running passnger equipment and engines from the yard and facilities in Raritan to Elizabethport where they could receive heavier repairs than were available in Raritan. The regular conductor on this job had 42 years service with CNJ/CR. The rails are the former CNJ four track main. Image is taken from the Cherry Street through-truss bridge with the Chilton Street through-truss bridge in the background. |
