Remarks & Notes |
Just a few months into the Conrail era, a former PRR SD45 and another unidentified unit lead a southbound freight past Cold Springs tower and across the diamond of the Erie Lackawanna's Dayton Branch, which by now was in the Conrail camp as well. This was an interesting junction, which was always staffed with friendly operators and just enough trains running to keep a railfan occupied. A historical search of CR 6194 revealed that is was sold to the C&NW in 1983 and may still exisit today as HLCX 9028.
