During almost ten years the trains of the Buenos Aires al Pacifico S.A. had to detour through different routes after their mainline was flooded by the rising waters of inland lake La Picasa, in the central Argentina province of Santa Fe. One of the first detours carried the trains to the Port of Buenos Aires over the former mainline of the General Mitre Railroad, by then in the hands of private operator Trenes de Buenos Aires (TBA). ALCo. RSD16 # 8506 pulls a freight train with a healthy consist of loaded wine cars close to the Colegiales station, while in the background, and partially hidden by the tank cars, one of TBA's electric M.U. consists leaves the scene bound to its destination.
