Bound for Eagle Bridge and a connection with both Pan Am and Canadian Pacific, Batten Kill flagship Alco #605 makes an impressive sight clearing Rexleigh Road with the week's tonnage in tow. Beautiful blue skies and fresh snowfall were the hallmarks of this chase. Sadly, this attractive Alco rarely sees the light of day; it was filling in for sister #4116 this particular week due to a breakdown. A few weeks later, #4116 was back in service, and #605 was back in the shed. Many thanks to the "ambassador" of local railroad operations, John "Cully" Cullinan, for his patience with this photographer at this particular spot.
