Paddington station,in London, often described as "Brunels masterpiece",has undergone a massive cleaning operation over the last ten years. Many millions of pounds have been spent tidying up the structure, first opened in 1854. The main operator is First Great Western, but in this view a pair of Heathrow Express class 332 units are nearest the camera. The 210 metre long roof dominates the scene in this picture, taken on an ordinary working day, looking towards the terminus end of the station.
