Feb. 24, 1972 dawned cold and nasty in Richmond, VA, in more than one way for RF&P. During the night a southbound freight had derailed while running down No. 4 Track between Greendale and Acca Yard. The derailement blocked three of the four tracks, leaving No. 1 Track as the only way to move trains. RF&P 250 ton derrick No. 1 had been ordered, but had not yet arrived as manifest No. 176 headed north behind an interesting lashup of an E8A, FP7A, GP7 and GP40.
