Snow-gasm!! The shutter clicks at the moment the White Pass Rotary Fleet collides with a dense drift, sending a momentary fountain of snow out the chute and in just about every other direction as well. Unfortunately, the dense snow completely stalls the advance and the fleet is forced to back up for yet another thrust. The metaphors aside, this struggle is indeed exciting to watch...from a safe distance. Backing to perhaps 100 feet from the wall of snow, the Rotary Pilot gives two quick blasts of his whistle, signalling a move forward. These are acknowledged in kind by the Engineers on both of the pusher engines. The fleet then eases forward with the Pilot calling to his own Engineer for maximum RPMs just a moment or two before collision with the drift. A dense, oily plume of smoke belches from the rotary and the sound is deafening. The resulting impact releases quite a bit of built-up energy....as can be seen here!
