Wabash F-6 Moguls were built in 1901-03 in a cross compound 4 cylinder arrangement, but soon after the large class of cross-compounds entered service most were rebuilt into F7 single expansion 2 cylinder locomotives with 64" drivers, 19" x 28" cylinders, and 200 psi operating pressure. Their tenders held 6000 gals of water and 10 tons of coal. This view from my collection shows Wabash 817 on an excursion from South Bend, Indiana to Montpelier, Ohio in October 1949.
