Remarks & Notes |
Readville to Selkirk westbound freight has left Worcester, Massachusetss and is heading toward Springfield as it runs beside the Quaboag River. This picture location is a favorite among Conrail/CSX fans. Composition and lighting can be tricky from this bridge due to direct east-west track location and mill and river composition elements. The mill on the right is part of the Warren Pumps Corporation. This company is famous for building the large pumps used in the New Orleans U. S. Army Engineers dike upgrade.
Photographer Ken Patton took this photo on one of his last Train Safaris through New England before moving West. Every state in New England has a town called Warren. Joseph Warren was the famed American Colonial General at the Battle of Bunker Hill.
