It's been over a month since the Last Ride of the Northlander. Having left one car in Gravenhurst that morning we rode the last northbound to Huntsville and returned in the afternoon on this last southbound. After bidding a quick farewell to enginemen Wayne and Dennis we hopped in the car and hustled off to Jevins, hoping to catch a shot there. Wayner was a bit too heavy on the throttle and we didn't have time to set up that shot before the train came by so we hit the highway again and headed for Washago, knowing we'd have to get there before the train as it fouls the crossing to access this point when it makes the station stop. We made it in time and caught them leaving the station, getting a big wave from both Wayne and Dennis (on the catwalk) as they pulled out past the old coaling tower at the junction of the Newmarket Spur (a truncated part of the old Newmarket Sub serving Longford Mills) and Bala Sub. This was our last time seeing this train and my last shot of it, a sad day all 'round.
