Amtrak's Adirondack, running with leased VIA Budd cars, crosses the causeway over Charter Marsh just south of Ticonderoga, NY. The north end of the narrow section of Lake Champlain is in the background. Behind the lake is Vermont.
The Adirondack follows both the Hudson and the Lake Champlain shoreline on its leisurely trip between New York and Montreal. When it started, it was pulled by beautiful ALCO PAs purchased by Delaware & Hudson second-hand from the Santa Fe.
This album seeks to portray classic New England and Upstate New York imagery. It showcases the most perfect examples of regional identity, with special attention to structures and landscape.
