The 3:30 p.m. Canon City and Royal Gorge passenger train enters Royal Gorge west of Burnito, Colorado, on June 2, 2011. The train is powered by a A-B set of former Chicago and North western EMD F7s, led by CC&RG No. 403. This view is from the Tunnel Road hiking trail, which follows the railroad and Arkansas River west from Canon City for a couple of miles.
While Colorado's narrow gauge steam railroads are the major draw, the state is also home to several diesel-powered tourist railroads that take passengers to the Royal Gorge and other sites.
