Just the basics! Engineer's-seat view of the control stand in HLBR's 1948 GE 25 tonner #3, or at least it would be had I not removed the engineer's seat to take this shot! Although possibly not the most attractive control stand around, in comparison to a modern locomotive's array of dials, switches, gauges and computer screens it is beautiful in it's simplicity (except of course for that silly little digital clock stuck to the top of the dash panel with Velcro tabs, which I should have removed for this picture). Perhaps that's one reason it's still going strong 65 years after it's birth in Schenectady.
