Ready for the Pass Two Southern Pacific AC4400CWs show off their clean scarlet and gray colors in a moment of sunshine at Minturn, Colorado, on September 5, 1995. Ten of these beasts will lift a heavy coal train up the 3-percent grades of Tennessee Pass in a show of tonnage verses gravity. SP No. 200 was built in Erie in May 1995, while No. 280 was built the next month, and these new locomotives were making a big showing on the Pass.
