Durango & Silverton’s Presidential special is operated during the late summer Railfest activities. For the 2005 version, the railroad renumbered Mikado 478 to a long-scrapped sister engine, No. 472, that was sent to Alaska during WWII and then dismantled after the war. In this view, the westbound (northbound) train is stopped at the recently restored Needleton tank on its trip to Silverton on August 27.
