A regular train from Glenbrook descends the grade near Cornwall Road. Locomotives can be turned at Glenbrook steel mill but a turntable is being installed. The Ww class was introduced in 1913 and mostly built at Hillside Dunedin.
Railway Enthusiasts Society has operated rail excursions around NZ since 1958, some steam hauled using rolling stock from Glenbrook Vintage Railway which it established in 1970's near Auckland. See www.railfan.org.nz
