In Feb. 1993, the Southern Pacific Railroad assigned a pair of GP9Es to work locals on the former D&RGW in of Provo, Utah. The SP 3833 and 3408 (including DRGW GP30 No. 3017) have pulled the Tintic Local into Provo Yard and tied down for the day. It was great to see first generation EMD power in Provo again, missing since the Rio Grande GP9s and SD7/9s departed in 1984.
