A Chicago and North Western inspection train approaches Waukesha, Wisconsin, in October 1983, in a view from Sunset Drive west of town. Powering the three car special is F7As Nos. 401 and 402. C&NW just rebuilt the line from Clyman Junction through Watertown to Jefferson Junction to serve Ladish Malts at J. J., and Milwaukee via a connection to the Adams Line. Now, nothing but the sounds of bike tires crushing limestone gravel on the Glacial Drumin State Trail pass this way; not long after this photo, C&NW abandoned this line from Waukesha to Jefferson Junction.
