Ja 1275 was built in 1951 by North British, Glasgow and is seen here hauling a GVR Mainline Steam excursion train from Glenbrook to Hamilton alongside Waikato Expressway. The next day this train ran from Hamilton over the electrified section of the NIMT to Taumaranui.
Railway Enthusiasts Society has operated rail excursions around NZ since 1958, some steam hauled using rolling stock from Glenbrook Vintage Railway which it established in 1970's near Auckland. See www.railfan.org.nz
