Amtrak FP7 117 leads sister ex-SP units 122, 163, 119 and 113 eastbound into Livermore, California, on April 12, 1975. The train was a roundtrip excursion from Oakland to Tracy, running via Southern Pacific's Mulford Line to Newark, then east on the Tracy Line over Altamont Pass, and back to Oakland on the Mococco Line. Visible on top of the four FP7A units are the icicle breakers SP installed on passenger engines to protect dome windows when passing through Sierra snow sheds. Today the SP tracks the train is on are abandoned and the parallel Western Pacific tracks on the right belong to UP. Kodachrome 25
