Do not adjust your screen - the vintage pair are leaning into what's left of the super-elevated curve in what appears to be a rare mileage trip on the very east/south end of the Green Mountain Railroad's Bellows Falls Subdivision, is actually a wheel truing exercise with the veteran GMRC Alco RS-1 405 hauling the business car "MacInytre" back in forth to work off some flat spots. The move is seen on the trackage south of the GMRC shops in North Walpole, NH on the long dormant former Boston & Maine Cheshire Branch, which last saw regular service in the 1970s. The stub end line south from the roundhouse had been used for car storage, but on September 4 with no cars stored except at the very end of track a short distance from this photo, the GMRC pair got a few-hour workout.
